Configuring your Datasheet – Iframe

If you do not Subscribe to Full IceCat,  Stock in the Channel will export some products with an Iframe.

Many brands sponsor Icecat and this means that all the product data and images that we have within Stock in the Channel are included in your data feed – these brands are included in “Open Icecat”

For the brands that do not sponsor IceCat, it has been necessary for Icecat to secure the data themselves and this is understandably a job that Icecat need paying for.

Stock in the Channel have a special arrangement with Icecat that allows us to export the Full IceCat content for non-sponsoring brands but this content will only be provided as part of an Iframe.

Filer attributes for full Icecat products together with a product title and a Thumbnail image will be exported separately but all other content including the product description specification and a reproduction of the products thumb image will be contained within the Iframe.  This content effectively then remains on the Stock in the Channel website and is served dynamically as required by your site.

Stock in the Channel provide resources and tools that allow you to edit the Iframe design and content, allowing you to make the iframe site more comfortably within your sites design.

To edit the Iframe you will need at least a basic grounding in HTML coding.

After Login,

  1. Select your “Store tab” Tab at the top of the screen.
  2. In the “Products” section press the Orange “Design Datasheet” button

This will take you to a page where you can use the available “Tags” together with HTML coding to design the data sheet which will be exported as an Iframe to your site

Once you have made and saved the changes to your Datasheet these should be immediately reflected on your site, no publish and import is required as these pages are served dynamically from Stock in the channel and the address for each doesn’t change after amending your datasheet.

Stock in the Channel does not offer support on editing the HTML of your Iframe.  If you break the design we provide a reset button which will restore the default settings.  If you are unsure how to edit your Iframe please seek assistance from a web developer or designer.
